Wikipedia Trail: From The Pandavas To The Vedas

Pandavas are the five acknowledged sons of Pandu from the Mahabharata, a Hindu epic text. Together the bothers fought and prevailed in a great war against their cousins, the Kauravas, which was known as the Kurukshetra War.

Kurukshetra War resulted from the conflict from a dynastic succession struggle between the Kauravas and Pandavas for the throne in Hastinapura. The battle occurred in Kurukshetra in the modern state of Haryana.

Haryana is a state in India situated in North India. It is the eighteenth largest state in India by population. Vedic state of Brahmavarta is claimed to be located in south Haryana, where initial Vedic scriptures were composed after the great floods some 10,000 years ago.

Vedas are a large body of knowledge texts originating in the ancient Indian subcontinent. The texts constitute the oldest layer of Sanskrit literature and the oldest scriptures of Hinduism.
