Wikipedia Trail: From Karna to The Lord's Day

Karna is a central character in the Hindu epic Mahabharata. He is one of the greatest warriors, whose martial exploits are recorded in the epic and the only warrior believed to be able to defeat Arjuna. He was the son of Surya and Kunti.

Surya means the sun in Nepal and India. It also connotes the solar deity in Hinduism. Surya is one of the nine heavenly houses in the zodiac system of Hindu astrology. Surya is the basis of Ravivara or Sunday in the Hindu calendar.

Sunday is the day of the sun as the name is derived from Hellenistic Astrology. For most Christians, Sunday is observed as a day of worship and rest holding it as the Lord’s Day.

The Lord’s Day in Christianity is generally Sunday, the principal day of communal worship. Most Christians observe it as the weekly memorial of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
