This is something I saw on someone else's blog and thought was really cool. I love having the quick access to the overview of the weather and having a link to more details. Really glad I chose this tech tip because it also helped me familiarize myself with how to work with the blog layout.

Tech Tip: Create a Meme

For my tech tip this week I created a meme using an image of my dog, Ruger. He sleeps all the time and looks like a grandpa in this pic.

Tech Tip: Google Reverse Image Search

I used the picture below in a reverse google image search. I found out that this picture is an Indian painting showing Ravana posing as an elderly hermit and abducting Sita in his chariot.

Tech Tip: Google Timer

After reading about the google timer and another students blog, I thought it seemed like a great tool to ensure I don't waste too much time doing one thing or another. I like to time how long I watch TV, nap or work on a certain subject. This tool will be great for managing my time and it's super easy to use.

Tech Tip: Editing a Pinterest Pin

For this week, I went back to the Pinterest board I created for this class and was able to edit some of the descriptions of the pins I had already pinned. This is beneficial because I was able to give clear and detailed descriptions that will be helpful when I'm looking back at them in the future. 

Tech Tip: Pinterest Search

This week while I was reading the Mahabharata I found myself getting a little bit confused about the characters and their origins and story lines. Since I created a Pinterest board a few weeks ago I decided to look up pictures of the characters to help me visualize them better and keep them straight. After searching, I found a great family tree that really helped as I read through the story to quickly remind me who was who.

Tech Tip: Canvas Notifications

 Last week I did my tech tip on downloading the Canvas app so this week I wanted to set up the notifications. I set the app to send notifications to my phone for upcoming due dates and graded assignments. This will hopefully prevent me from forgetting any important due dates. 

Tech Tip: Canvas App

I chose to download the Canvas app. I didn’t realize they had an app but it will be great to use as a quick and easy check for a due date or to check upcoming assignments. I’m looking forward to utilizing this app on both my phone and Ipad. 

Tech Tip: Pinterest Board

I am currently a user of Pinterest and created a new Pinterest board for this class. I usually use Pinterest for recipe’s and decorations but I think this will be really useful to gather meme’s and look up other pictures related to our readings, which I will be able to use in future blog posts.

Tech Tip: Canvas Calendar

The tech tip I chose was the Canvas Calendar options. One of my favorite aspects of canvas versus D2L is the color coordinated calendar auto populated with the due dates set by teachers. It is a great was to visualize your week and not let anything slide through the cracks. I also love that when an assignment is turned in on canvas, the assignment is marked off as completed on the calendar.
